The weather beckoned for us to go on a walk after school today, so we took a couple of the dogs with us and out the door we went.
Of course, we had to take Major too 🙂
Rose at the beginning of the walk…
and at the end.
It wasn’t very warm, but anytime is a good time for a swim when you are a crazy border collie!
Especially when there are sticks needing to be retrieved!
She really isn’t picky when it comes to what you throw for her.
Not sure how I managed it, but I actually got them to sit still for a second!
Darby is getting a little grayer and a little slower, but he had just as much fun running through the water.
It was a great day to be outside!
It would have been a big disappointment if we didn’t wake up to snow because there has been so much hype with the media and weathermen.
This was the scene yesterday – wet, nasty snow…none of us were impressed.
I love how a fresh blanket of snow makes everything look new and clean.
The geese are still here, I think they know a good thing when they see it!
The dogs are LOVING it!
Darby may be getting up there in age, but he can still dish it out with the best of them 🙂
Rose spent the morning filling up on snow!
Such a funny girl 😉
The Robins don’t seem amused with Mother Nature’s sense of humor!
We went to the dog show that’s in town over the weekend to meet a couple people and catch up with others that I haven’t seen in a long time. We had a great time! This was the first ‘true’ dog show that I have taken Theron to. He has been to lure coursing, agility, and herding and he wanted to know what type of racing or jumping the dogs were going to do 😉 He had fun looking at all the different breeds of dogs and wanted to know what each one was. He made a lot of new friends.
This adorable Cardigan puppy is Rio. Theron was very popular with his baggy full of cheese crackers 🙂
This is JR, a super outgoing Papillon that was getting ready for the Junior’s ring.
I have always liked Clumber Spaniels and
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
This girl is a Husky named Rose. The two of them hit it off immediately and were wrestling in the aisleway.
Such a pretty girl with beautiful blue eyes.
These pretty girls are Rhodesian Ridgebacks – Zuri and Roxy. He really liked the ridges on their backs.
Caitlynn is an old friend that he hasn’t seen in awhile. She is such a sweetie.
We got new leashes for all of the dogs and Theron picked out a new toy for Darby. They played fetch for a long time when we got home. Happy boys!
We usually go for a bike ride or a walk at the park several times during the week, but today we went to the dam. It isn’t a very long walk, so we took all the dogs. We usually take Kate and Paisley, but Darby is limited on how far he can walk so he stays home most of the time. He is a little heavy to be carrying back to the car – been there done that 🙂
He loves the dogs!
He started off walking Darby, but Darby is kind of a mama’s boy and doesn’t like to run with Theron.
He quickly traded me for Kate and they were off.
There were quite a few rowing teams out on the water today. We both thought it was really funny when they rowed by singing ‘You’ve got that lovin’ feelin’.
The Willamette river is so pretty in this area.
I love this picture – happy, happy, happy!
We found a little trail that went down to the water and Darby decided the whole trip was worth it.
I’m not sure what she was trying to do, but she would have gotten a big surprise had she jumped over the barrier – it was very DEEP!
It was a great walk and I think we will add this into our walking rotation. On the way back Darby tried talking me into carrying him, but he was a muddy mess, so we just took it slow. Poor guy isn’t a youngster anymore.
The pictures say it all!
No, we don’t have a new puppy – her name is Mardi and she belongs to a friend. They had a blast together! Have a great day!
Snow!!! Ok, it wasn’t a lot – but it was still fun!
It gave Darby super powers – he can fly!
For some reason, our dark colored ducks blended in, while our white duck stuck out like a sore thumb 🙂
We had some mallards stop by our pond for the afternoon.
Theron and Kate had a great time running and playing in it.
