but I was really hoping to get a Christmas card picture of my son with a sheep, duck, and dog 🙂 Unfortunately all of our dogs are very prey driven and were extremely keyed up by the presence of the sheep and duck! I figured Darby was my best bet – boy was I wrong! He may look slow with his little legs, but it is just a big trick. He was able to run behind and pull a little bit of wool off of Reno’s butt – poor guy! So, he was very quickly sent to his kennel for not listening and before my son dropped the duck and became Darby’s dinner. Next was Kate’s turn and it was very apparent that her and Reno were just going to stare at each other. So…we went with just a sheep and a duck and Magoo, the llama, decided to join in.
I’m not thrilled with the picture, so we will try again on the next nice day. Poor kid, he was quite the trooper. At least now I know not to try any of the dogs! I’m happy to say that no animals were hurt during this photo shoot 🙂
Well, I think that’s a dandy photo you ended up with! I’m going to feel extremely accomplished if I just get a Christmas letter written and sent off this year.
That’s just too cute–I love the semi-death grip he seems to have on the duck. And the expression on the sheep is hilarious. And then the llama seems to be trying to steal the show. I love it!
Oh this is priceless! Theron did an excellent job:) Hopefully next time you will get that special Xmas pictures!
The look on Theron’s face is great – what a trooper!
This sounds like my greatly unsuccessful photo attempts. Guess that is why we really should appreciate the professionals ( you? ) who have to work so very, very hard with kids and critters who usually have NO intention of being cooperative. Still, it is a good photo and they are color coordinated!
Maybe it will snow soon for some real Christmasy type photos.
You may not think it was the greatest photo but it sure made me smile! I agree about the look on Theron’s face-priceless! 🙂
I like it Shannon, very cute. I’d had dreams before (when I owned 12 horses) to have they all lined up behind Simon and I for a Christmas photo, thankfully I never tried to make it a reality. What a mess that would be! LOL
When I was going through photos the other day I found one of those Christmas card photos and all the attempts from about 15 years ago. I must have had the camera on a tripod because we were all in it (husband, 3 kids, and me). In addition we had 1 or 2 cats, 2 dogs, a cockatiel, and the premature calf that I’d been raising on the backporch that was about 2 months old at that time. Needless to say, there were a lot of attempts that didn’t make the final cut. I think that we gave up on one or more cats.
