Puppies, a colt, and a cat

Our neighbor recently invited us to her house to play with her Aussie puppies and new colt – who could resist an invitation like that???  They were all born within a couple days of each other and are 6 weeks old.

My son was in heaven.  He LOVES dogs.  ALL dogs.  No matter what the breed.  Just in the last couple of days he has wanted a Husky, a Boxer, a Saint Bernard, a Border Collie, and now an Australian Shepherd 😉

They all clamored for his attention…

but this mellow guy was his favorite.  I couldn’t believe how laid back he was.  He didn’t care how he was sitting on his lap, just as long as he was the chosen puppy!

This puppy was a little shy, but very sweet.  He is making me tired!

The puppies started to nod off and we made our way to the barn where the colt was.

Such a handsome guy! 

He is a big boy for 6 weeks old and my son was a little intimidated.  The puppies were definitely more his style, but he soon realized that there was nothing to be afraid of. 

and look… Whiskers is finished!

He did such a great job and is very proud of his cat.  This is going to be his Black Sheep Gathering spinner’s lead entry and he can’t wait to carry Whiskers around while he is walking his lamb Precious 🙂  Whiskers is made completely out of our Jacob wool.

  3. Great post! I love when puppies are in that rolly-polly stage. 🙂 Such pretty colors too… I believe bringing home an Aussie would fly over like a lead balloon for Tony. 😉

  5. I love the color of that chocolate Aussie boy. Theron, your Mr.Whiskers looks great and he now has bright blue eyes just like you do. Please ask your Mom to take lots of pictures of you both in the ring at B.S.G. so we can all see what a great job you do…
