No, I have not become a barista 🙂 My son is going to school 1/2 an hour from our house and he is only ther for 2 1/2 hours, so it doesn’t make sense for me to drive home just to turn around and drive back into town. I was a little overwhelmed with having to spend 2 1/2 hours in town doing something everyday!!! I am quite the homebody and I enjoy my flexible schedule – I realize now that I have taken that for granted.
I have a long list of felted items that I need to work on and my mom suggested I take my felting to Starbucks. This made me laugh at first because I am not a coffee drinker and the idea of needle felting in a coffee shop just seemed silly.
It took some gumption to pull my felting stuff out of my bag and start needle felting on Monday, but now I have become quite comfortable there. The atmosphere is pleasant and they have some wonderful breakfast items. The blueberry oat bars are awesome!!! Here is a recipe for blueberry oat bars that the creator claims to be just as good, if not better. I will have to make some this weekend.
I have accomplished a LOT with my block of undistracted time…

and today I helped at my son’s school. Along with checking stuff off my to do list, I am also educating people about wool and felting! Several people have been quite intrigued with the process.
I am looking forward to a few days at home 🙂
I have a feeling you will be getting offers to buy your needle-felting soon. Maybe you should start needle felting coffee cup scenes while you’re there! Could blossom into a new business venture….
WowZa! I might have to send you some custom orders, lady! Those are great!!!!
Wow–those look really good Shannon! I really love the Dachshund! Could you please NOT make them look so nice so you WON’T have 20+ orders to fulfill so that you WILL have time to make one or two for me 🙂
Thanks everybody! My ‘special’ friends get moved to the top of the list 🙂
It is also a great place for people watching…
Nice job on the puppies! How many breeds are you going to do? A spindle and roving is another good way to pass the time waiting for the kids, believe me, I’ve been there!
I like the title of your post… glad I had talked to you earlier about “working at Starbucks,” otherwise I would have been floored. 😉 Looks like it’s working out great for you there! I would have been very embarassed to pull anything out there to work on… it would have taken me a while, and a coffee to get me going. 😉 Funny how shy we can be for no reason. Great job, the are awesome!
I’m not sure how many breeds I’m going to do, most of the breeds that I have done so far are custom orders. The little dog on the green background is a Pequeno Podengo 🙂
I am getting better about not being embarassed when I drag my felting stuff out 🙂
