We had our 2nd shift of shearing this morning and it was VERY cold!!!
Luckily the sun came out this afternoon.
Chevelle was soaking up all the sunshine she could!
I love walking out in the pasture with our sheep and seeing ALL of the variety!
There are 2 horns…
4 horns…
and even a 3 horn. She is actually a 4 horn that is fused on one side, but Jonquil likes to be unique!
The friendly…
and the not so friendly. They didn’t want their picture taken – go figure!
There are spotty sheep…
and sheep with crisp/clear black and white.
Dark sheep and light sheep.
Short and stubby…
tall and lean.
Lilac
and Black.
I enjoy all of them in their own, unique way.
Some breeds pride themselves on looking the same, but I love that the Jacob breed is not one of those.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
When my sheep are sheared I am again reminded of their unique spotting and shapes and why I love them so much…and how cold they can be when sheared at this time of the year! ( heat lamps ? )I enjoyed your shearing posts….
You are making me cold!!!! I think you should knit them some jammies! XO
I love that I can look out my window and see such a variety. And I appreciate most the flocks that include such diversity.
