A lot of animals call our little pond home, most are just temporary residents but for the most part they live harmoniously. That is until yesterday…
there were 3 pairs of geese and a bunch of ducks. The problem wasn’t between the ducks and geese, but between this pair…
and everybody else!!!
They started by screaming and then came the chasing.
Geese are known to be aggressive during the nesting season and when they have young, but these two thought they owned the whole place.
I really enjoyed watching them and their natural behaviors.
Eventually it was time for them to move on. Hopefully they can find a big enough pond to share and enjoy each other’s company!
Great pictures! After a year of raising geese, I have to say that I like geese best if they live somewhere else.
Is that your barn? We have a ‘shed’ 🙂
I would have sent Kate out there….or maybe Gyp 🙂 In a few months that is! Thanks for the day!
My thoughts echo Lara’s, GET KATE! Those geese, goodness. They assume life revolves around them…drama fowl!
Linda – No that isn’t our barn. Our barn is VERY functional, but not very pretty 🙂
Kate is the reason that they eventually moved on 😉 Had a great time with you and Gyp yesterday. Gyp is welcome anytime!
Geese are definitely about the drama!
My barn is the same – works but is nothing fancy.
I had a feeling Kate had something to do with them deciding to leave. 😀 And I also think your barn is really cool… Neat history there.
I also agree with Linda – my mom had geese when I was growing up and I hated them. They always came after me and of course, thought the front yard was their domain even though the pond was in the pasture on the other side of the fence.
