The rain has finally arrived here in the Northwest and our once empty creek, now has water in it.
Which means the chickens have lost their favorite hang out…
under the bridge. They had the best dust baths down there and they would spend a lot of the day under there.
They were in denial about it yesterday and continued to walk through the creek looking for their spot.
Today, they just seem perplexed.
They keep looking, but can’t seem to find where it went 🙂
Now, for the real question…have they figured out how to cross the bridge?
or are they flying/hopping/swimming across the water?
It took her awhile, but she did finally jump up and walk across the bridge.
Sorry girls, it is going to be awhile before you see your favorite spot again.
What happened to your Blue Laced Wyandottes?
They are still here 🙂 They are in some of the pictures, but aren’t the main focal attention. The chicken on the bridge is a BLRW, but her coloring isn’t very good. You can definitely see a difference in the penciling between the hatchery chickens and the small farm chickens. I’ll post some more pictures of them.
I love this story. I just keep reminding myself that their brains are the size of a pea. LOL!
Isn’t that the truth Laura! They amaze me with their simpleness 😉
Our chickens are creatures of habit as well, they sure do get their favorite hang-outs and develop a routine that is often a surprise.
Great shots!
Lana
Thanks Lana! They do like their routine.
Oh, poor things. They aren’t the brightest birds are they?
